I downloaded the said video. While watching, I noticed that there are so many birds around the airstrip of OPRN, curious due to high bird strike rates in Isb. Not so far but may be in future....!!!

they are making a green field ISB airport...as long as they keep that clean...the airliners will be safe...and some thing has to be done about the current one aswell...do they have bird shooters there aswell like they have them in lahore ?

oh btw...that reminds me ... here at YYZ they use falcons....birds to get rid of birds .... as falcons usually soar high while they search for the prey...they are not a threat to the airplanes much...and that they are a bit more sensible too :p

Aziz, you are absolutly right it is really a dirty place when the runway ends. Here is the picture of that place which will more elaborate. . .
Sorry about it but this is a fact, hope that the new Islamabad airport will overcome all these flaws;

This picture clearly says everthing to what I mean that the birds are attracted to have some food from the garbage seen in pic. CAA need to take necessary actions to clean such areas surrounding airstrip to avoid any bird strikes.

The place where you people can see the garbage is acctually been approved for the park for children by Sheikh Rasheed for so many time but uptill now no progress has been made for that. NOw you can see the condition of that future park.

So thats where that Silkway's IL-76TD went! Here's a pic I took 2-3weeks ago @WMKJ. Not often do you get to see an IL-76 built as a civilian version (no gun turret in the rear).

I normally reach Islamabad airport for taking the shots around 12 in the noon. At that particular time you dont normally see the international carriers departing, most pf them depart early in the morning or very late at night mostly after midnight, but I'll definitly try to capture them as well some day.
