Article on Air Blue in Air International

Post by Aphelion »

January's edition of Air International has a three-page article on Air Blue. I had a quick glance at it. I'll try to buy it tomorrow and scan the pages for Abbas.

All i know till now is that the airline will be aquiring 2 A321's by the start of next year and an Airbus A300-600 will join the fleet by summers of 2006 till the A330's arrive which are due most probably by late 2006 or early 2007. The aircraft AP-BGW will be taken out of service for a month when the A321's arrive for some certain checks as that A320 is the oldest in the fleet. The aircraft will resume service by March giving AirBlue a total of seven aircrafts.

Three Airbus A320's based in KHI
One Airbus A320 based in DXB
Two Airbus A321's based in KHI aswell
One Airbus A300-600 based in MAN

The last pic is not LHE, its KHI. I recognise the gate. Its the domestic satellite at JIAP.

Hello Saad,

my name is Sebastian and I saw your pictures of Airblue on Myaviation.net. Are
you working with Airblue ? I am right now writing an article about this airline
and lacking pictures. I took a flight myself on Airblue last week from LHE to
KHI but pictureclicking at Pakistani airports is really difficult. Could you
help me with some additional pictures ? One outside shot of their A320 would be
great and possibly a flight crew as well.

Thanks very much for your help and all the best from Germany,

Sebastian
Hi Saad,

good news. The article is bound to appear very soon.

Could you help me on the following questions that the editor wants to have
answered until wednesday:

- How many passengers did the airline carry in its first year of operations?

- How many does it predict it will carry in its 2nd year?

- When will the first new A320 arrive?

_ When will the last new A320 arrive?

- When are the A330s due for delivery?

- What is the seat pitch in inches in business class and economy class?

- When do the Dubai flights start, where will they operate from and how many
flights a week will there be?

- What is the airline's busiest route, how many flights a week are operated
on it?

- When do flghts start to the UK?

- What UK airport will be used?

- You say there will be 8 flights a week to the Heathrow or Gatwick, but
Pakistani airlines are only allowed 10 a week to these airports. Does this
mean PIA will have to reduce to 2 flights a week to Heathrow- I wouldn't
think so.

- What say in June 2004 did the first flight take-off and where did it fly
from and to?

- Please add a bit about the earthquake relief flights by the airline (I see
there is a press release on their website)

- How many flights a week do they operate?

_ What destinations ado they plan for the future, when will these start?

Thanks for any help. Do you know anybody at Airblue that I could phone
regarding this?

Thanks so much for your help!

Sebastian
LOL i brain stormed the article and he put it in words...kool :P....im really happy to see that some one ( even though a non-Pakistani ) wrote about a Pakistani airline and it got published in Air International!

Gate Gourmet was formerly Swissair Catering based at KHI airport, since around 2002 they were rebranded and they service all top airlines flying to KHI and then some.
