Great! I'm sooo happy. PIA is really looking ahead now. I wish them well.

This is indeed good news. It shows that PIA is thinking flexible. From 7 F27 to 11 ATR42/72 is indeed a good move. Now if we only could get:
3 A318 or B737-600
5 A319 or B737-700
3 A320 or B737-800
This would be great in terms of both growth and flexibility.

this will probably lead to many B 737 operated routes which see 60-80% load factors be operated by an ATR 72-500 Turbo.

I agree. I think that would be a good idea, seeing that Turbos are much more fuel efficient than a jet and the turbo props can be more easily filled.

Interesting, these could be used on many routes which the B733 is not doing so well.

The commonality between the 46-50 seat ATR42-500 and the 64-72- seat ATR72-500, highlighted by single type rating and a very high percentage of common parts and components constitutes an unequalled advantage of the ATR family.

Actually they both are the same aircraft with the ATR-72 having an additional plug in its fuselage for more passenger seats!
