Re: PIA Invites Bids to Acquire Four GE90 Engines for Boeing 777 Aircraft
Many airlines are phasing out their old 777s. Specifically the 200ERS. PIA should be able to get engines easily. Especially the GE 90-94B which are used for the 200ERS. Actually surprised that they haven't found a deal yet considering this their 3rd time inviting bids for the engines. Second hand engines should be easily available. Many 777-200 ERs are being scrapped or retired.

Although the GE-90 is the perfect engine for PIA's 777s, PIA should should also explore the possibility of acquiring Rolls-Royce Trent 800 or Pratt Whitney 4000.

^ For the sake of standardization, same engine model is selected for the fleet of an aircraft type.

Engines spares are maintained on assemblies, sub assemblies, and various interchangeable components. PIA should never opt for any other engine type except GE for current fleet of B-777.
It is the flexibility of same engine type parts interchangeability that allows PIA to cannibalize one GE engine to help fly other Aircraft during economically hard time.

Re: PIA Invites Bids to Acquire Four GE90 Engines for Boeing 777 Aircraft
A number of airlines have grounded their 2005-07 built 777-300ERs.
one such airline All Nippon Airways is scrapping its earlier fleet of 2005-07 built 777 fleet and I am sure has surplus GE-90-115B engines.
But the situation with Pakistan and specially PIA, one the verge of default and one well one on a ventilator since 2015.
I hardly think any company or airline will lease engines to PIA considering their reputation of parting out aircraft and engines.
Might be better if PIA was to beg borrow or steal and buy the 4 15 year old engines from ANA.
