PIA-Turkish Airlines partnership model to be followed for PIA partnership with Emirates.

Under PIA-Turkish Airlines partnership, PIA operates six weekly flights (4 from Islamabad + 2 from Lahore) with Boeing 777 to Istanbul from where PIA passengers are transported to over 28 destinations in Europe, UK and USA. PIA has earned 2.14 billion rupees revenue through partnership with Turkish Airlines. PIA started Istanbul flights in November.

EK has not been a reliable partner for anyone including PIA in the past. Also, distance between Dubai and Pakistan is too little. Therefore, the codeshare will offer very little in return to PIA

The codeshare will only work if Emirates itself reduces frequencies to Pakistani destinations and allows PIA to take over PAK-UAE sector, specifically KHI market which is literally sold to UAE carriers. PIA needs to recover KHI's market. The open sky agreement is haunting Pakistani airlines.

I would prefer having a codeshare for Australian, East Asian and African destinations. If an agreement is made, flights from all 8 Pakistani destinations can be considered ( higher frequencies).

How it will be different than one already in place with Etihad. PIA needs code share partner hubs to be at least 5-6 hours away from Pakistan. Not at the next door neighbouring airport like DXB/AUH/DOH.

The codeshare with etihad was bound to fail anyways, Etihad itself has struggled a lot in the previous years which has led to a decline in their network. Apart from that, PIA has very less frequencies to AUH compared to DXB. Etihad reduced it's frequencies to Pakistan but PIA didn't add much to AUH.
Both codeshares can be successful if PIA increases frequencies to DXB/AUH and the latters reduce their frequencies to Pakistan which in case of etihad already happens. Maybe restructuring or renegotiating the agreement with Etihad and focusing just on the above mentioned destinations might help.

Will be even better if PIA manages to successfully run both codeshares together, two big MEA airlines will reduce their frequencies to Pakistan and let PIA takeover isn't a bad opportunity. This will also help PIA regain KHI's market.

The idea thrown by the Me3 for code share is to pounce the ongoing PK-TK deal, which is actually enabling poor PIA, with the help of TK, to take some international market share currently in control of ME3s.

ME3 have no sympathy or intention to help PIA or to grow business together. They have wonderful product to deploy to Pakistan and with turn around time of 6 to 7 hours from DXB-PK-DXB, they can do it by themselves easily, why they need any help from PIA, owing PIA also have no great quality product to offer.

Assume that even if the deal happens, and PAX flew from KHI-DXB on PIA, and DXB-JFK on EK, the share of PIA will any way be pretty less since passengers will flew pretty less miles on PIA metal versus on EK metal.

If EK have sincere intentions, why don't they allow PIA to Operate KHI-DXB-JFK flight all they way, with 5th freedom rights at the DXB-JFK sector with EK call sign on it? --- This will be the litmus test for the intended code share.
Fortune favours brave.
