Pleased Karachi gets a service from a mainline carrier. With good marketing, this could succeed especially with connections to South Africa and Kenya.

Given the blocked funds fiasco right now, it’s brave step for this airline.

Funny how more and more airlines are operating to Karachi, whereas Pakistani carriers are living in the dilemma that most of the traffic comes from Northern areas. PIA in particular neglected Karachi's market a lot. KHI-LHR used to be a successful route for PIA in the 90's, but now it can't even fill up one 777 weekly flight ( pre ban).

But the arrival and departure times of these flights are so odd that it would not be possible for passengers to transit to other cities in Africa or Europe as one would have to wait at least 14-20 hours at ADD. Note that Ethiopian Airlines has an extensive network and all the flights to Europe or Africa depart or arrive at around same hours. But the arrival of Karachi flight into ADD and departure from ADD is quite odd and do not allow for transit flights. I don’t know if this route would be able to attract adequate point-to-point passengers for it to be successful.
