The only solution for PIA to become a sustainable business is to be privatized to help take commercial decisions that can benefit the airline and its share holders
Instead of adding losses each year govt should take over the loans and sell PIA along with its properties and assets that will clear out almost 30-50% of the loans stop the bleeding of tax payers money and allow the airline to flourish under new private management
A governments job isn't doing businesses

These are really good recommendations but will never be applied under govt. controlAmaad Lone wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 9:09 amWith a limited requirement of 5 planes, why introduce two types.SAS had filed for bankruptcy and has put up to 5 wide-body aircraft:
PIA needs 4 planes for around 20 flights to UK and 2 planes for around 10 flights to Europe.
For future North American flights PIA should give cabin upgrades to its 777-200LRs and three 777-300ERs.
For Saudi flights the remaining 200ERs should be converted to all economy.

Hopefully they'll go for just 1 type of aircraft most probably A330-300 rolls royce engines and maybe build a A330 300 only wide-body fleet going forward with 1 engine type
Unlike 3 engine types for 777s which was a stupid decision
But you can't say anything 777 lobby is strong within PIA

Re: PIA Invites Bids to Acquire Up To Five Wide-body Aircraft on Dry Lease
Today, Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique at a press briefing held at Lahore Airport informed:
Wide-body aircraft bid offers received did not meet/satisfy PIA requirements. PIA aims to acquire wide-body aircraft in good condition with good passenger cabin seats and In-flight entertainment (IFE) system.
Through tender process, PIA will make another attempt to acquire wide-body aircraft in good condition.

Bid opening date was 03 October, and now we are in December and no update happen on Website. PIA matters are really slow.

PIA engineering developed skills for aircraft engineering and dealt with airline manufacturers and airlines for their engineering issues.. Now Air Force which has a different job as per law, will be dealing with those commercial-oriented aspects of aviation.. Will the customers be willing to engage with Air Force when it takes over PIA engineering?? and will the organization flourish??
