Same case on AP-BLY and AP-BLZ. Lessor not accepting aircraft in such a poor condition.

PIA intends to purchase these two aircrafts and 7 billion PKR has been requested as bailout from the Finance Ministry for the purchase of these two aircrafts. For how many years these two aircrafts can fly more? This is question!

^ if the aircrafts are flying to Pakistan in june, it means they are airworthy. Both aircrafts are around 16 years old, aircrafts can fly upto 25 years under the NAP 2019.

Re: PIA Paying USD 600,000 Per Month for Two Airbus A320s Parked in Jakarta
ISLAMABAD: It has been revealed that two aircraft of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have been standing in Jakarta, Indonesia, for two years.
In the first year, 7.2 million dollars have been lost from the monthly payment of 6 million dollars for the parking of the planes.
According to official documents available to this scribe, two aircraft of PIA have been parked in Jakarta, Indonesia, including an Airbus A320, which has been parked since September 2021.
Monthly payments of 6 lakh dollars are also being made and they had to be brought back after maintenance for 12 months while the maintenance officers of these planes continued to travel abroad at the government expense, which caused a loss of millions of rupees to PIA.
The vessels could not be brought back in 12 months due to the negligence of the officers. PIA officials say that the lessee is not responding to us while the audit has conducted a fact-finding inquiry on the matter and directed to resolve the matter at the earliest. While PIA has not given any record regarding bringing back the planes.
When contacted, the PIA spokesperson said the return of the planes has been delayed due to technical and legal reasons with the company from which the planes were leased.
PIA is going to buy these two planes. Negotiations are going on with the leasing company for them, they will be purchased and added back to the fleet, soon both the aircraft will come to Pakistan, the spokesman maintained.

Re: PIA Paying USD 600,000 Per Month for Two Airbus A320s Parked in Jakarta
KARACHI:
A four-member delegation headed by Aviation Secretary Saif Anjum will leave for Indonesia in an effort to repatriate two Airbus 320 aircraft of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft stored at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta in Indonesia for the last two years.
The delegation includes PIA CEO Air Vice Marshal (retd) Muhammad Amir Hayat, Chief Engineer Amir Ali, and the East Management deputy engineer.
According to sources, the PIA administration had returned the two Airbus 320 aircraft leased in 2012 in September 2021. The national flag carrier has suffered a massive loss in payments made for the parking of the planes.
PIA is spending around $600,000 monthly for the two Airbus A320s parked at Jakarta airport. For the past two years, an engineer has been deployed in Indonesia for every one to three months at the PIA's expense.
PIA had offered to pay the company other expenses including the check-up of the two aircraft. The national flag carrier is also willing to buy the planes for $30 million.
However, the leasing company, AirAsia, had refused to sell the planes bearing registration numbers: AP-BLY (msn 2926) and AP-BLZ (msn 2944).
PIA then asked the leasing company to check the A320s in Pakistan, but because of Covid restrictions and security concerns, the inspection was carried out in Indonesia. When the leases expired in 2021, the planes underwent a third-party inspection, which was done by Lithuanian FL Technic at its Jakarta facility.
After the inspection, certain issues with the parts on the planes were identified, and it became clear that the required C-Checks had not been carried out.
According to the sources, the negligence and lack of attention of the PIA’s management and officers to the matter were largely responsible for the stranding of the two planes in Jakarta for two years.
The PIA spokesperson confirmed the forthcoming visit of the aviation secretary-led delegation to resolve the dispute with AirAsia. He further said the return of the planes was delayed because of technical and legal reasons with the leasing company.
He added that the national flag carrier was working hard to bring back both the planes. The spokesperson further said the fares of the two Airbus 320s had been waived off.
The PIA spokesperson said negotiations were under way with the leasing company to buy the two planes. “They will be purchased and added back to the fleet. Soon both the planes will come to Pakistan,” he added.

The a320 fleet looks good for now with 2 more joining. I think PIA should refurbish a couple of them and fly them KHI-KUL or KHI-IST with reduced seats. Maybe 162Y configuration could work. Getting the IFE operational of a320s shouldn't be as costly as the 777s.

Brainless individuals including the CEO, CFO, and many others at PIA let Aircraft stay Idle for two years, paying parking fees of 6,00,000 USD per month and you are expecting them to bring them back and operate them commercially viable basis.
Fortune favours brave.

Probably hoping to get their money out before any movement on the privatisation/bankruptcy front kills their chances of ever seeing any of it.

Re: PIA Paying USD 600,000 Per Month for Two Airbus A320s Parked in Jakarta
ISLAMABAD: An agreement between the Indonesian company and Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has been finalized regarding custody of two PIA planes due to non-payment of lease amount.
According to sources, both the aircraft – Airbus 320 - will soon join the PIA fleet.
Earlier, PIA had decided to buy the two planes instead of paying lease payment. In this regard, a four-member committee arrived in Kuala Lumpur to negotiate with the leasing company to take over the aircraft.
The four-member committee was consisted of Secretary Aviation; CEO PIA retired Vice Air Marshal Mohammad Amir Hayat, Chief Engineer Amir and Deputy Engineer.
The leasing company did not extend the lease of these airplanes due to non-payment of dues in 2021 and PIA had to pay the parking fee of the planes to the leasing company due to non-regular returns.
Sources revealed that the monthly parking fee of both airplanes is $0.6 million per month which has been pending for two years.
The payment of fines and dues exceeded the original value of the planes that is why PIA had to decide to buy the aircraft instead of paying all dues but the deal failed due to lack of funds with PIA.
The leasing company agreed to negotiate with PIA in Kuala Lumpur on the inclusion of third party. According to PIA spokesperson, both airplanes are worth $30 million and as soon the planes’ deal is finalized, an engineering team will audit the planes and money will be paid and the planes will be handed over to PIA.
