Request for Proposals (RFP) in May 29 newspaper:

Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL) is looking for an effective way to bring new look and modern PIA to the world. In order to have a fresh look as per customer's point of view, PIACL intends to upgrade its Domestic Lounge at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) - Karachi and International Lounge at Allama Iqbal International Air Port (AIIAP) - Lahore.

PIACL intends to hire services from reputed architectural/interior designing firms for upgrading of its lounges, internal layout, furniture and compartmentalization, lighting and fixtures, flooring or floor fabrication, construction of toilets, electronic, electrical and all other related accessories, in line with modern industry requirements and trends for a Business Class lounge.

Today, Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique at a press briefing held at Lahore Airport informed:

Completion of PIA Business Class Lounges renovation work at airports of Karachi and Lahore expected this month (October).

Renovated PIA Executive Lounge inaugurated at Lahore Airport by Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique. PIA Business Class passengers will benefit from the services of this lounge. Snacks, Hot and cold drinks will be provided to business class passengers without any charges.

The renovated PIA Executive Lounge at Lahore Airport can accommodate up to 44 passengers. The lounge was not renovated for more than past 10 years.

Today, Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique at a press conference in Lahore today informed:

Upgraded Executive Lounge has begun serving PIA passengers at Karachi Airport. Formal inauguration ceremony to take place.
