The grounded 777-300ERs and 777-200ERs need to be renovated brought back to service for the Hajj flights

PIA will need 7 flights a day of the 777 aircraft to complete this task in 1 month.

Even if BGL is damaged beyond repair how about using its parts to bring back BHW , BID and BMG back to service.

Plus convert three 777s to all economy that will add an extra 35 seats, removing the 35 club class seats and installing 72 economy seats in its place.

Thank you Abbas for starting this thread, Seems like for this year Hajj: authorities have allowed 50 percent Quota for every country what it used to be Pre-Covid time.

For e.g. Approx 80K pilgrims are allowed for this year 2022 compare to approx. 160K pilgrims during the year 2019.

Saudi officials visited Lahore Airport to review arrangements for 'Makkah Route' planned for Hajj flights to be operated from the airport.

Under this initiative intending pilgrims will undergo Saudi immigration and customs clearance at Lahore airport.

In 2019, Islamabad Airport became the first Pakistani airport where "Makkah Route" initiative was introduced for Hajj flights.

Today (May 13) was the last day to submit Hajj applications. Applications submission date not extended due to time shortage.

57,593 Hajj applications received and now the process of receiving applications for the government Hajj scheme has been closed. Draw for the government Hajj scheme will be held on May 15.

Banks will complete verification and online data entry till tomorrow. Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony has sent confirmation messages to applicants. Applicants have been asked to verify their particulars from ministry's website http://hajjinfo.org/.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs also operates a helpline to facilitate Hajj pilgrims. The numbers are: 0519216980, 9216981, 9216982 and WhatsApp number is 03063332555.

"Makkah Route" facility will be available to Hajj 2022 pilgrims traveling from airports of Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.

Pilgrims' entry to Saudi Arabia process including customs and immigration will be completed at these airports of Pakistan.

Why not from Quetta? Why 5 out of 8 cities are from Punjab? The Punjabi elite is still not ready to consider areas outside Punjab as part of Pakistan.
