Why would someone from Karachi or Islamabad come to Lahore and fly to Sydney when they can go in style with Thai via Bangkok.

What PIA needs is a 250 seater. (A330-800) that can fly on the long haul routes.

Operate Sydney from Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. The only advantage PIA can offer is a direct flight.

But with three hubs PIA needs a new fuel efficient smaller aircraft.

There will be many reasons why people from ISB or KHI that will want to fly PIA rather than THAI. Not everyone can afford the style or will be comfortable with the style for Thai.

And why make it harder for people who would find it comfortable to connect in Lahore than in Bangkok. Its a preference for sure, and that option should be available to passengers.

There is next to no demand for a flight to Sydney and Lahore, which the other carriers are scooping up. There needs to be domestic feeder flights from the country into Lahore that can easily connect onto this Sydney flight.

Its futile now to suggest to fly from 3 cities, many countries around the world have consolidated operations to a one city HUB, and run domestic services on the hour to other cities and allow for connections. It is about time Pakistan catches up with this too.

Lahore-Karachi-Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur-Singapore-Jakarta-Sydney-Melbourne-Auckland.

By the time you reach Auckland it will be a 48 hour flight.

I meant something like SQ used to to with SIN-LHE-KHI or TG's BKK-KHI-MCT. Even PIA does a similar with YYZ-ISB-KHI. If this route is successful it can evolve into something like one flight originates LHE-SYD-MEL and one ISB-KHI-SYD.

Doing a stopever with 5th freedom rights can help as well with higher frequencies

With maturity of route, you can do direct flights as well

If PIA flight makes a stop somewhere in southeast asia then there is no advantage of direct flight(which is the selling point of this route for PIA just like YYZ), so if there has to be a stopover, most passengers would rather choose ME3, Thai and SriLankan.

PIA after resuming its Europe/UK flights should also try to attract passengers traveling between Australia and Europe by offering them good stopover package in Lahore including hotel stay and city tour.

For some reason, April 22 PIA inaugural Lahore to Sydney Boeing 777 flight PK9806 is appearing as cancelled on Sydney Airport website https://www.sydneyairport.com.au/.

The flight was scheduled to depart from Lahore at 7:15 PM on April 22 and arrive in Sydney at 12:45 PM on April 23.
