Apparently, PIA is not operating any flight to Europe/UK today.

Probably Pakistan cricketers today traveling to Manchester from Lahore on Qatar Airways?

PIA Boeing 777-300ER (aircraft registration AP-BID) photographed in Manchester on July 2.

The aircraft arrived in Manchester as flight PK701 from Islamabad and later departed from Manchester as flight PK702 to Islamabad.

Pakistani cricketers arrive at London Heathrow from Lahore.

Probably traveled on Qatar Airways from Lahore to London via Doha.

Has PIA formerly cancelled flights for six months? Or are they cancelling the flights week in advance? I called them for a refund of family tickets on Wednesday and was told they do not have any information on the ban and our flight on 18th is still going to go ahead from London. My online booking is not accessible, no idea how to get the money back.

PIA to suffer loss of 33 billion rupees due to suspension of airline's flights to/from Europe.

Due to COVID-19, PIA also unable to operate Umrah and Hajj flights this year.

Whether flying or not flying PIA is a drain on the government and the tax payers of Pakistan.

56 billion rupee loss in 2019 when airline had no restrictions on its network.

Might be a good idea to return all leased aircraft and keep a limited 8 aircraft (777) fleet and maybe keep around 2500 employees.

Once restrictions are lifted PIA can start the process of rebuilding and hiring more people.
