Re: EASA Suspends PIA Europe Flights for Six Months
Only remedy is to get into wider agreement with Turkish to cover Europe and North American flights, and get the house in order first.

I would never fly PIA again after all this licence fiasco, coupled up with the obvious poor level of pilots they have.
If you suggest that passengers fly by Turkish Airlines to Turkey , they may as well fly Turkish Airlines all the way to Pakistan......why take the risk with PIA? Turkish Airlines much better than PIA.

UAE's GCAA has also started an investigation in Pakistani pilots and aircraft engineers:

Thats a really good strategy but I doubt someone will think about it, maybe PIA won’t even need that what if the ban is lifted after the appeal in 1-2 months?ammad wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 12:41 am It is tough time but PIA can emerge from this Crisis.
Minus UK, Europe market is already lost by PIA. Only thing to worry about is the loss of revenue from UK market.
To control the damage. PIA should work with extensive agreement with Turkish, ask them to lift all European passengers from Europe to Istanbul and funnel them to Pakistan via TK and PK.
This will be survival mode for PIA for next six months. Meanwhile they should work on fixing license issues.

I wrote with the perspective of damage control. Off course much of the business will be lost, but still they will be able to crawl with some revenue.t_kaay wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 6:05 amI would never fly PIA again after all this licence fiasco, coupled up with the obvious poor level of pilots they have.

In this crisis PIA should terminate the job of all of the Pilots with doubtful credentials immediately, thus allowing only to remain on job only that have valid license to fly the aircraft.
This way, ban could be averted.
Meanwhile, they can sort out issues with all of doubtful credentials, who ever found with minor issues should be inducted/hire back with PIA and can resume same seniority.

Memorable PIA advertisement from 1991.
Guess who taught 30 other airlines how to fly.
Over 30 airlines from Europe, Africa and Asia depend on us for the training of their pilots. Which comes as no surprise when you discover that some of the most qualified instructors on earth work at our Karachi Training Centre. Proof that when you fly with PIA, you're flying with extraordinary people.

UK Civil Aviation Authority Update on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)
1 July, 2020
Following the decision on 30 June 2020, by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to suspend permission for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to operate services to the European Union, PIA flights from Birmingham, London Heathrow and Manchester airports are suspended with immediate effect.
The UK Civil Aviation Authority is required under law to withdraw PIA's permit to operate to the UK pending EASA's restoration of their approval that it meets international air safety standards.
We are reviewing a request by EASA to allow a small number of repatriation flights operated by PIA to commence over the coming days. These will only be approved should EASA be assured by the safety cases of these flights and that the flight crew operating the aircraft have the correct documentation.
