The statement is misleading.
Land area of the airport might be 2nd largest, not the terminal building itself. Which means it will have a generous room for expansion

Can someone please explain to me the following.

A city (Gawader) that gets two ATR42 flights a day from Karachi which means a 100 passengers, why does that city deserve a $230 million dollar airport.

Listening to the Gawader bullshit for the last 20 years on how it will transform Pakistan.

A port in Chinese hands for 40 years with no taxes being paid to Pakistani government how is that going to change Pakistan.

Yes the port might make it quicker for Chinese goods to reach Middle East via Gawader, but how does that help Pakistan, we are just a transit route for a very small part of the the global trade that China does with the world.

Gawader was way to make quick money for the rulers who bought land for thousands and sold it for ten times or hundred times more to suckers.

Gwadar has less to do with some people getting rich and an awful lot to do with Geo-politics, China projects it’s power through it’s trade and economy and a very large part of it has to do with ships and water navigation, Chinese ships are vulnerable when going through the indian ocean and the south china sea, China has Island disputes will almost all of the south east asian nations and all of them are cozy with the US, strait of malacca is the choke point for Chinese ships then there's Taiwan too. You can't even pay off a house mortgage in 40 years in some countries yet in that time Pakistan will have a developed port to it's name, either today or tomorrow one day China's Seas will become volatile and Gwadar will be the primary port for them, It's proximity to Iran and then Irans proximity to Turkey the gateway to Europe plays a huge role here.

Gwadar in a 15 years or so will become the primary route for Chinese goods then add the Russian wishes for warm waters and the CAS need of a port and hopefully a stable Afghanistan will need it too, there maybe won't be much pax traffic but there will be a lot of cargo but then when there's trade there are jobs then people and finally pax traffic. The airport is being built with the future in mind.

I wonder if Gwadar really needs the airport to be A380 compatible?
