PIA operational fleet status

PIA's B777-200ER AP-BGK expected to return to skies tomorrow ( 23rd December) as flights PK-731 from KHI to JED. PIA will have 9 operational 777s out of 12.

Thanks for the update. Flight is assigned to ap-bgk. Hope AP-BID will be back to service soon.

AP-BGK not showing up any more, AP-BMY not arrived yet, things at PIA are pretty slow.

4 of the B-777 are still at ground, AP-BMY arrived couple of days ago but haven't started revenue flights.
PIA needs to bring house in order.

PIA Airbus A320 registration AP-BMY probably going through Pakistan Customs and Pakistan CAA paperwork before starting commercial flights for the airline.

The 777's are probably waiting for the parts to arrive. BGK should have been operational by now.......

One Boeing 777 expected to return to service this month, one more next month ( February), Khawaja Saad Rafique said in the press conference today.

Probably BGK this month and BID next month? Same was said last time, hopefully they actually return this time.

Today, Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique at a press conference informed that PIA has 12 Boeing 777 aircraft in its fleet. Currently eight Boeing 777s in PIA fleet are operational. Two Boeing 777s (apparently AP-BGK and AP-BID) are being prepared to resume flying - one this month and the second one in next month.

The two other grounded Boeing 777s (apparently AP-BGL and AP-BHW) have difficult work to do, he said.

AP-BMY has been delivered but is inactive. Wonder why the aircraft isn't directly bought to KHI rather than ISB. The aircraft can be prepared for operations till the legal issues and documentation is being resolved. All the private carrier do this. Also don't understand why does it take so long to solve these legal matters after the induction of the aircrafts. The process is quite slow.

Very very unfortunately it is being cannibalised. Daily they take out some components of BMY to get keep the other 320s running. Can’t see it getting operational anytime soon.

I just don't see any truth in that. Firstly, it is a newly inducted aircraft and i don't see PIA already cannibalising it. Secondly, had PIA planned to do something like this, they would have done that at KHI not ISB. Yes there are facilities at ISB but these types of works are usually done at KHI's facilities. No a320 has been 'grounded' or has been taken out of operation while at ground in ISB if you look at the records. Most a320s which visit ISB perform regular flights and while on ground are waiting for the turn around or fly the next day while resting at remote bay. Which means that it isn't possible to use parts of BMY in other aircrafts during turn around time. All the currently grounded a320s are at KHI.

They are probably doing some maintenance checks i belive or are preparing the aircraft and then fly it to KHI where final work will be done. Or its probably the technical procedures taking to long. When AP-BON was inducted, it too spend a lot of time on ground at ISB and then eventually it to started operating.
