Quetta Airport Main Runway to be Reconstructed

From April 20 to September 29:

Reconstruction (Phase I) will commence on main Runway 13L/31R on 570M from beginning of Runway 31R. With effect from April 20, 2020, the runway end will be shifted accordingly.

May 5, 2020, to October 14, 2020, owing to prevailing circumstances in the country due to COVID-19, reconstruction work shall now commence on main Runway 13L/31R on 670M from begining of Runway 31R with effect from May 5, 2020. The runway end shall accordingly be shifted temporarily.

June 3, 2020, to October 14, 2020, Instrument Landing System (ILS) approach Runway 13L will not be available due to work to upgrade main Runway 13L/31R.

Reconstruction work phase (1B) shall commence on main Runway 13L/31R on 963.8 meters from beginning of Runway 31R. The runway end will be shifted accordingly.

Quetta Airport Runway 31R Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI), threshold and runway end lights will not be available for operations due to shifting of these facilities.

Quetta Airport Runway 13L/31R was not available for flight operations due to runway reconstruction work Phase 1B.

From September 23, 2020, to March 31, 2021.

During re-construction work (Phase-1) of main runway, revised runway slope will be as follows:

Runway 13L (+) 0.467 percent for 1st half then (+) 0.736 Percent for 3rd quarter then (+) 0.83 percent for last Quarter.

Runway 31R (-) 0.83 percent for 1st quarter then (-) 0.736 Percent for 2nd quarter then (-) 0.467 percent for remaining half of the runway.)

From September 28 to October 31

Reconstruction work phase (1B) shall commence on main Runway 13L/31R on 963.8 meters from beginning of Runway 31R.

The runway end shall accordingly be shifted temporarily.

Digging work in progress from edge of beginning of Runway 31 towards northern B2 link taxi up to a distance of 300 feet. All aircraft to exercise caution for landing/takeoff and taxiing on main runway.

Heavy machinery deployed undershoot Runway 31R due to work in progress. All pilots advised to exercise caution while taxiing.

Instrument Landing System (ILS) approach Runway 13L will not be available due to upgrading of main Runway 13L/31R.
