PIA added first DC-10-30 (AP-AXC) in its fleet in March 1974. Two years later, in April 1976 PIA acquired its first two Boeing 747-200B (AP-AYV & AP-AYW) aircraft on dry lease from TAP Portugal. Later in 1980 PIA purchased these two Boeing 747s from TAP Portugal.

^Yes the first two PIA's B747s were ex-TAP aircrafts that PIA leased first and then later on bought them from TAP.

If I remember correctly, PIA had a total of four DC-10's, of which one was lost in a hanger fire. The exchange must have been of three (03) DC-10-30's... :-k

^ after the loss of the DC-10 (AP-AXE) in hangar fire at Karachi Airport in February 1981, PIA purchased a DC-10 (AP-BBL) in used condition from Italian airline Alitalia in May 1983 thus restoring the number of DC-10s in its fleet to four (AP-AXC, AP-AXD, AP-AYM & AP-BBL).

Here's photo of ex-Alitalia DC-10 registered in Pakistan as AP-BBL for PIA.
