A complete Beginner

Hey guys.

I am fairly new to FS2004 and thus have little to no experience regarding the flying of planes.

I am familiar with take-off and ILS landings. However, I am unfamiliar with the procedures for taxing to the runway from a gate and when landing on the runway, how to get from the runway while the plane is slowing down, to the taxiways. In addition, I am fairly unfamiliar with other aspects but these are my main two concerns.

I will be very grateful to anyone who can help me out.

dear, which airport you are flying in and out these days and with aircraft/equipment type? before proceeding with any medium or long haul flights, you should have some practice to fly in and out with touch and go's so keep practicing the take-off and landings...

And i am sure that you are using the Active runway as start location for each flight you are creating...so instead of selecting particular start location, check the drop down list and you will find the gate or parking numbers...select any particular. do the pushback and start engines and request the ATC about taxi way out to Active runway....for doing touch and go, select the option Remain in pattern, ATC will instruct you for particular active runway. Here if you are not sure about the airport then select the Progressive taxiway in the ATC window and you will be guided to the active runway with additional hints i.e. arrow marks on the ground which will lead you through the path to active....and then you are set ready to take off....

same is the case upon landing back, exit the Active runway after getting to the very first taxiway...and contact Ground for taxi to parking or gate, another instruction will be received and accordingly select the Progressive taxiway which will lead to your parking spot...

you are welcome Arslaan and i am glad that you have learnt some good tactics. By the way, you did not mentioned your equipment of flying?

Oh, sorry about that. I was flying an Airbus A320. I have compared this with the likes of A300 and A310s and personally I enjoy flying the A320 a lot more.

By the way Riahans I had another query. How do you get those camera angles you know like cpt_747 does aswell as other members of HOP?

I am also an Airbus fan and my fav aircraft is A310, beside this A320 is also good in flying.

May I suggest a small piece of Software called Snapper. This is available from the Link below as Freeware.

This will do the same as Active Camera (no Video). The only big difference is that Snapper will automatically
place the Location and Altitude of Aircraft in the bottom right side of each Shot.
