Re: [PICS] BOM(VABB)
If this is the case, I'd love to spend the whole day at this place and capture every plane that flies out of Mumbai in my camera. I guess you cannot get closer to planes than this...
Excellent shots and beautiful photography. Thanks SEANDSILVA!

Re: [PICS] BOM(VABB)
excellent pics...like the B727 of Bahrain Royal flight with winglets.
BTW, how is the performance of B727 with and without winglets?

Thanks railhans and AP-BGL! Unfortunately after the 26/11/08 terror attacks the Mumbai Police has taken over this spotting location and hence NO SPOTTING anymore!
The winglets are supposed to reduce fuel consumption and noise at low speeds. Also termed "Quiet" wings!

Re: [PICS] BOM(VABB)
nice closeup but it could be extra ordinary when you capture it with complete titles Srilankan at least

Re: [PICS] BOM(VABB)
The Air India Boeing 747 with palace windows paint work and large area below flight deck windows with black anti-dazzle paint looked great! It was one of my favourite liveries, very unique and different from other airline livery designs. I don't understand why anti-dazzle paint was changed from black to blue.
I read somewhere that palace windows livery was introduced on Air India's very first Boeing 747 in early 70s and livery was designed by faculty/students of arts department of a university in India.

Re: [PICS] BOM(VABB)
Most design features of the 70's livery were quite symbolic. Even the tail was a representation of the sail (baadbaan) of the small boats (nao) seen on India's many rivers.
