There is no concurrent theme here.
I mean one fleet of aircrafts could be major cities e.g. B743 and B777 and from there onwards Pakistani rivers and personalities etc etc.
What about a uniform tail with designs from all 4 provinces rather than 4 separate tails ???

As a foreigner, please do not take offence at my personal opinion, but the new schemes to me look like a big failure waiting to happen. PIA is a flag carrier, and should be just that, if I were a Pakistani nothing would make me feel more proud than to see my country's flag prominently displayed on the tail of its' aircraft.

US Airways also will go for 4 different liveries. but these will be far more hideous looking than These PIA tails.

As an old English adage goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Here my friends, is the same aircraft over the years. Let's be honest, which design would make you proud to be a Pakistani and give you sense of belonging to the great country we hail from?
May be we can have a poll!

Apparently the four provinces motif livery is a sort of interim solution to replace wavy flag on tail that was constantly criticized by many people.
After 4-5 years, I would like to see PIA hire a proper livery designer like Negus & Negus, design a completely brand new livery for fuselage and bring back green tail with white PIA on it. In my opinion, there’s nothing better than green tail with white PIA on it.

Salam,
Call me conservative but I preferred the english PIA logo before they changed with the new flag one.Whatever it is, PIA has a brand value...One could very easily confuse the Flag livery with Mauritania or any other country which shares a large portion of their flag with ours.
The new ones are impressive florals but like others I too feel PIA in Urdu should better be superimposed in Gold or any other colour and of a larger size than is shown.
My other thought is that four different liveries ...don't they promote regionalism - when we can afford a little less of it..
Interestingly, some European aviation news sites seem to have noticed and one of them Flight Global has run it as a lead story.. Flightglobal

Negus & Negus have designed such beautiful schemes for PIA during the 1990s and 1980s... lets hope PIA's management calm down and carefully come up with a design that truly represents Pakistan...instead of an overnight rushed idea

PIA should just revert back to their original livery which was done by Boeing Co on the 777 200 ERs prior it was delivered to PIA. Get the tittles back on saying "PAKISTAN" and do a all green tail with PIA in white

I saw AP-BAK first hand on 3/22/06 @ JFK, it was operating PK722 JFK-KHI via MAN. The tail did not match the fuselage at all. It reminded me of the Karachi mini-buses--a blue and white tail, an off-white/beige and partially white fuselage mixed with the green letters and a green stripe. The tail looked like bathroom tiles. Someone in PIA is severely color blind and needs to attend ART Color classes 101.
Over 70 responses and COYBOY is nowhere to be heard--i hope everything is ok. I think i'll speak for both me and Coyboy--what part of bring back the PASHMINA GREEN LIVERY do PIA not understand??? and if they cant do that for whatever reason--bring back the 90's sport livery!!

I hope you all get my point--it's all about the GREEN and WHITE--no other colors!!!

yeah the 1990's livery would have done just right on the new Boeing 777 200/300 ERs LRs

i think that is what PIA had in mind first when they made the order for these jets[/url]

There is one possibility however. It could be that certain designs, including the ones submitted by Nasir have been earmarked and kept aside for future reference. As you all know next year is 'Visit Pakistan 2007' and this tail scheme is purported to be an interim arrangement for that purpose. Once that period has passed, it could be that a complete change will take place at that time. This scheme could be a 2 year promotional theme with another change in colors due to occur after that.
The only thing that makes me doubt the above is the fact that TK mentioned that it would take 2 years for the whole fleet to be painted in these colors.
