most probably write-off and de-registered AP-BHP, watch 16:00 at GIL during backtrack, in latest video by Josh Cahil
How many crashes do we need before we learn our lessons???

I don't care if these pilots are the best in the world - They shamelessly violate the secure cockpit rules and MUST be fired immediately! No discipline, no liscense - it should be as simple as this, period!

I hope the good Air Marshal will take notice!

I was also thinking same. Even if it was an approved filming and cockpit visit, it should have been done using fixed cameras, presence of non-crew/approved person in cockpit during taxi/TO/Landing is a big no.
Don't know what are CAA/PIA rules/policy on this.

And see how easily this PIA sponsored blogger is mincing bigotry at 0:47 by calling Gilgit as "Located in disputed" region.

If you I would be PIA CEO, I will never let him set foot in ATR again.

But he is speaking the truth. Gilgit Baltistan was part of Jammu & Kashmir that Pakistan occupied in 1948 when Pathan forces marched on Srinagur. Pakistan just like India has craved a piece of Jammu and Kashmir for itself, leaving a 13000 square kilometer section as Azad Kashmir.

India annexed Jammu and kashmir and made it in two Union territories (J&K and Laddakh), we made Gilgit & Baltistan into our 5th province.

Look at the map of 1947 partition, and Gilgit Baltistan was not in Pakistan.

PIA really need to take corrective measure for the cockpit culture, i see no difference in BHP incident and BLD crash in terms of flying crew capacity to understand the situation they were in; more embarrassing are the sections 1.17.6 and 2.15.3

btw, what is the state of crew atm, are they dismissed from PIA, or are they still allowed to fly the million-dollar equipment to damage more?

Good question we need to know why action was taken against the pilots flying the aircraft.

I just read the excerpt from the report on avherald, and now i totally understand why Pakistani private airlines have chosen to hire foreign pilots.

Also any info on whether the Captain has been fired or not?

On page 25, section 1.17.1

1.17.1 Lack of supervision by PIA – It was revealed during the investigation that the Captain had deliberately made a high-speed Approach (speeds higher than specified in PIA SOPs / FCOM) as a demonstration to FO to display a high-speed Approach and Landing13. However, it was done without any prior approval by the Operator. Moreover, the Captain also admitted that prior to this incident, there had been occasions where the Landing was made at high speed14 but aircraft was stopped successfully without any untoward incident or occurrence. Nevertheless, as per the Captain’s own admittance, despite having made high speed Landings, there had never been any debrief or cautionary advice given15.
