Please do not copy and post periodical articles. Apart from the fact that it is a violation of the periodical's copyright which can create legal problems for the website, this article is by Alan Warnes who works very hard to promote a positive image of the PAF around the world in an environment which is extremely hostile to Pakistan and its armed forces, therefore it is unfair to him that he is not properly compensated for his hard work. Spend a few bucks and buy the magazine, and remain within the law.
Mods, please remove the AirForces Monthly article.

Re: Miscellaneous Pakistani Military Aircraft
This is an ex Afghan Air Force Mi-24 which defected to Paksitan in 1988. It was is pristine condition and was kept in storage for many years. As most of the systems and engines are same as that of MI-17 helicopters in service with Paksitan Army, an enthusiastic team of engineers and pilots who deciphered the systems labelled in the Russain language and restored the aircraft to flying status in late 90s. The helicopter was kept in the flying status and flown occassioanaly for training or familiarisation flights. Later on the flying was discontinued due safety concerns as no logbook or other component historical records were available.nd wrote:pakistani mi-24 (rare pic)
