A question for ATR pilots: From the video, it seems that reducing thrust on the right hand engine helped regain directional control. Obviously, with a failed left engine that's producing a lot of drag and an idled right engine to regain directional control, reaching Islamabad would've not been possible, but as hindsight is always 20/20, could that have allowed them to ditch in an open field, a water body, or even the Tarbella airstrip instead of adding power to the right engine and losing all directional control in an attempt to reach Islamabad?
