A sad news indeed. May Allah grant the highest ranks to the departed souls in Jannah. As an aerospace engineering student, I would be very interested to know the exact root causes behind this crash (not like how they found Bhoja and Airblue crash reasons).

Now is not the time to ask some questions, but there are some observations related to ATRs which we would discuss later.

Maybe single propeller couldn't maintain altitude or control at such heights?

Usually jet engines are used in such cases

Was AP-BHO Engines PW127E?

On the other hand Media should act responsibly, They should not take comments from Lights of Fakher-E-Alam who knows nothing about ATR or its Systems/Engine's, Media should call PALPA or a Experienced Aircrash Investigator & stop speculating...

A single engine failure in and of itself should not result in a crash. If it transpires that the pilots cocked up like they did in Multan, PIA training is will need to take a serious look at itself and the calibre of pilots they employ.

The 42 500 has very good takeoff climb performance on one engine. Much better than the f27 before it.

Really sad and tragic incident coincidentally on the Civil Aviation day 7th Dec
May Allah bless the souls of all those who passed away in the crash and give their families patience.
