Re: New Gwadar International Airport Project
New Gwadar International Airport has been powered up with 24 hours electricity after being connected to the National Grid.
Approximately 12MW electricity has been provided to the airport by Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO).
In order to keep power supply smooth and free from power breakdown, 12MW will remain available to new Gwadar International Airport round the clock as three power transmission lines will be feeding the new airport.
It means if one goes out of function, then the second will be automatically connected and if the second goes haywire then the third will be present in the system as a backup arrangement.
One power supply is from a 286-kilometre long, 132kv dual-circuit transmission line through Naal-Basima-Naag-Panjgur, the second is from Mund-Pishin-Turbat transmission line and the third comes from Gabd-Remden power transmission line to Jiwini-Gwadar Grid Station.

Re: New Gwadar International Airport Project
How many flights will land at the new airport every day?
What is the operational cost of this airport per month and what will be the income?
Like the power plants of CPEC this airport is also a vanity project.

Speaking at a press conference on August 26, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti denied reports of the postponement of new Gwadar International Airports opening due to security concerns and said it was facing some "operational issues".
"Absolutely, it is not like that. There are operational issues,” he told a reporter, when asked about the delay. “It is now close to completion. A test flight has been conducted and the prime minister will visit very soon and inaugurate it."

Re: New Gwadar International Airport Project
So this is it?? Government touted it as the largest airport in Pakistan (some even said south asia lol) and all it has is a single taxiway and 2 gates? Even the most relaxed estimates put it at about 2500-3000 acres in area which is smaller than the current Islamabad airport. So even according to area its not that big.
Looks like its mainly for cargo flights but looking at the lack of taxiways with only dumbbells at the ends of the runway, there won’t be much large aircraft activity here either.
