PIA can manage eight weekly flights into North America with around three 747-300s, leaving the eight 777s for Europe and United Kingdom.

The stopover in Istanbul will be basically a technical one, allowing PIA re-fuel for the onward journey.
This would put PIA 747s at work, which otherwise would be parked at Karachi, while the 777s go to work at UK and Europe.
Another Option For Europe

some info
from wat i ve heard pia is already working on something like mr.lone's suggestion...the idea behind the solution is to use former destinations in europe for 310 as stopovers for 777 on way to north america.....its suppose to be a lean period for europe anyways so they are hoping that to find some relief
its more about damage control anyways...since majority of ppl believe its pia that is banned not the aircrafts....come to think of it...its always been about damage control

the only time an aircraft has excess fuel is when its on fire

Consider flying via istanbul/cairo.
As turkey is trying very hard to get into EU it may not allow PIA access to Istanbul. Tiurkey is trying hard to standrad itself according to EU. So another option could be cairo but here again US restrictions apply that PIA flies to the US via a european city(correct me if i am wrong). They could also fly via Baku if the restictions don apply or even moscow. But i guess the best deal could be istanbul.
Anyhow they could still fly direct to toronto utilizing their LR.
They could utilize their 2 combis and 3 -300 dedicated to the US.
If we consider their dedicate their 2 LRs on canada. Eventhough one could be completely utilized here.
I guess 6 T7 will be more then enough to do the Europe.
Twice weekly karachi-manchester
Thrice weekly karachi-London
Thrice weekly Lahore-London
Thrice weekly islamabad-London
Four weekly islamabad-manchester
Four weekly lahore-manchester
Twice weekly islambad-birmingam
Thrice weekly islamabad-istanbul-frankfurt
Once weekly Lahore-amsderdam-frankrut-lahore
Twice weekly Lahore -glasgow
Twice weekly islamabad-oslo-copenhagen-islamabad
Twice weekly lahore-oslo-copenhagen-lahore
Once weekly islamabad-paris-Amsterdam-islamabad
Once weekly-lahore-rome-paris-rome-lahore
Once weekly-lahore-athens-milan-lahore
This could be my ideal scheduling for the current scenario PIA is facing but cant really say if this could be done with the limited 6 T7 avalible to PIA, Four 777-200 ER and Two 777-300 ER ( One delivery of 200Er on march 9, perfect timing :>)

What is quicker, getting permission to change routes planes or arranging the dry lease of three A310-300s from some foreign airline???
Should PIA dry lease airbuses belonging to a different airline, it might be able to continue operating the 20 odd flights that are being effected by the ban.

Whilst Kashif has read my mind, I would also like to add that ex UK flights TO Pakistan certainly don't need stopovers. The UK market is big enough to serve Pakistan nonstop.
I can't see it being an attraction to fly Manchester to Europe for 2 hours, stop, transit and then carry on again for another 8 hours turning an 8 hour flight into a 12 hour nightmare................
Looks like proper research and evaluation needs to be done before posting such large topics with wishful thinking.
