I sort of agree with you on newer aircrafts but don't you think there could be a reason why PIA chosed these aircrafts over many other types easily and readily available!, this is what made me think, maybe PIA saw something good in getting these and they may want to use them further also, all i am wondering at this time, heck i could be wrong too but i do see a possibility in future also.....Ca'mon Abbas they are built like tanks!, they are vertually limitless airframes if airlines keep them going....Abbas Ali wrote:Why do you want PIA to buy old and out-dated aircraft type like TriStar? Do you know any major airlines buying TriStar as passenger aircraft these days?ConnieLover wrote:Abbas,
Are there any chances of PIA buying these L1011s towards the end of there leases?.....
As a well-wisher of PIA, I want to see PIA buy brand new & new technology aircraft.
Even for the Hajj operations, for the comfort of pilgrims, I want to see PIA use better & newer leased aircraft.

One could be Orient Thai the other has Cypriot registration but belongs to Air Universal I think.
As for PIA to buy these L1011's you have got to be joking, no flag carrier in the world is operating these anymore, why would PIA consider it when they are already in a soup, operating old planes, involved in bad deals, odd livery all they need to do is add the L1011 as icing to the cake

Well i doubt it was L1011 Tristar, if it would have been Tristar you coulden't miss it due to is #2 engine's S-Duct blended in with vertical fin...sounds like some other type of aircraft...CoyBoy wrote:Saw some aircraft parked at KHI today it had two shades of blue on the tail and a white logo, kind of like Air Tahiti Nui livery but it wasnt that, couldnt make out which aircraft it was there were too many bushes around.

Tristars for PIA. Abbas, you did not appreciate the joke. If PIA can lease these out of production models it can use them as replacements for the A300 B4s. You will agree with me that if the 6 A300 B4s had been retained by PIA it would have given it sufficient cushion to service their long haul fleet as per EU's requirments.
