AirBlue seems to be the only viable party. Rest have no aviation experience, if not negative aviation experience like Fauji's past stakes in Shaheen Airlines. Serene Air is insignificant.

Experience doesn’t matter for these investors. They can hire skilled employees to make technical decisions. Do you think Nvidia’s board of directors are a bunch of engineers?

Actually, it does matter. Compare AMD with a technical experienced CEO and Intel with an accountant CEO. You can look at the FAA comments regarding quality of Boeing management having no clue of how things work. In Pakistan, where YES SIR factor is at least 4 times higher than US, related experience matters the most to get a viable business outcome.

CEOs are not necessarily investors. Say that Arif Habibs consortium wins the bid do you think he himself would become CEO? They would hire an expert (probably a PAF Veteran)

Yes because a PAF veteran is the obvious choice to be an expert at running an airline. :D

There are plenty of commercial Aviation experts among Pakistanis. Problem is that even if hired by the likes of Arif Habib and FFC, it would lead to failure due to the YES SIR culture. YES SIR culture is worst in Pakistani Private sector and Military circles. Result will be ALL GREEN reports until suddenly PIA files for bankruptcy and closed down for ever.

Likes of Arif Habib would prefer to use the tools what they accustomed to and best at using - such as short term speculative actions. An airline business instead needs long term planning, commitment and follow through. You cannot sign a JV with THY one day, and then politically manoeuvre the situation through your political crooks to change stance after only few weeks. Private Sector has plenty of airline bankruptcies to its credit except Airblue.

Armed forces have the worst performance record in commercial aviation sector be it PIA (except Nur Khan) or Shaheen Airlines with three bankruptcies. The only thing Generals want to see & hear is a salute with loud YES SIR. They have never heard NO SIR or NEGATIVE SIR in their entire professional life.

So you mean airblue doesn’t have “yes sir” culture? 🤔🫣

They do but professional Aviation management is able to differentiate and make appropriate decisions. Khaqan Abassi himself is a retired PIA Pilot. (Disclaimer: I am not a PMLN supporter).
