News in yesterday’s Reuters.

Deadline extended to the 18th of May,

It also mentions that the government was putting on the block a stake of between 52% to 100%.

Arif Habib Group and Gerry’s have shown interest.

The extension in date is a clear indication that they have not received a good response. This is not Reuters, it is my opinion.

On paper sounds like a smart demand, but without a serious operator taking over, not sure what PSO gets out of this shareholding if plight of airline continues.

May 17, 2024, was the last day for submitting Expression of Interest (EoI) and statements of qualification submitted for divestment of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL) through privatization

According to Privatization Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, documents submitted within stipulated time to take part in PIA privatization process by organizations/companies/consortiums including:

airblue
Fly Jinnah (FJ)
Gerry’s Group
Arif Habib Corporation Limited (AHCL)
Sardar Mohammad Ashraf D. Baluch (Pvt.) Limited
Shanxi Construction Investment Group (CIG)
Yunus Brothers Group (YBG) led consortium
Pak Ethanol led consortium
Blue World City led consortium

Now Privatization Commission will conduct the pre-qualification process. Privatization Commission would then invite the eligible pre-qualified institutions for the next stage of the bidding process.

Yeah I was looking at that too, is Gerry's not a registered outside group? Would that be a Gerry's Pakistan subsidiary in the ballot.

Wish the best for PIA and whoever leads PIA, hopefully it will become a success In sha Allah
