Re: Metro Bus Service for Islamabad International Airport
Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sought Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) help it in getting early delivery of 30 buses from China to launch Metro Bus service between Peshawar Mor and Islamabad International Airport.
CDA is also going to open financial bids on April 4 for installation of equipment at seven bus stations and a platform at the airport.
Under an earlier plan, buses were supposed to reach Islamabad by March 15 but their departure from China had been delayed.
Ship carrying buses from China would take a couple of weeks to reach Karachi and after custom clearance, transportation of buses from Karachi to Islamabad could also take two weeks.
There is no chance of starting operation of this bus service in April.
When the buses arrive, CDA would also use some of them for running a public bus service from Expressway to Faisal Mosque.

Where exactly is the station at the airport? I haven't ever seen an actual metro station near the airport terminal so I'm curious where the route ends.

Re: Metro Bus Service for Islamabad International Airport
Abbas bhai shared a news article in which CDA officials themselves stated that this branch cannot be made operational in April. And now here we are, with it up and running.bukhari917 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 1:51 am CDA had already announced opening in April. Its just another “Show-bazi”
I wonder how many more issues we are told by such agencies like CDA, CAA etc that they "cannot be done" and in reality can be done with the right pressure and dedication. Stagnant and relaxed attitudes have eaten away at our transport organisations. If I'm not mistaken, I read (I think on this forum) that the jetbridge at ISB which collapsed in 2018 was only replaced this year.
Hope this new service runs smoothly now.
