Apparently a snub to speaker national assembly who was en route for a three day official visit.

This is what I thought too initially that it was intentional to please the Indian masters. But further reading the news about the incident I realized that the Kabul airport was closed due to genuine security concerns. The counter parts were waiting eagerly to receive our parliamentary delegation and the streets of Kabul were doctorates with pictures of speakers Qaiser and his accomplices.
For example read the news item on link below

Afghan Interior ministry spokesman Tariq Aryan said at least four other flights were also prevented from landing at Kabul Airport that day as officials had to shut the facility to disarm an “an old explosive.”
“The airport was shut because this explosive was found,” Aryan told Arab News. “There was no other thing.”
