Pakistan to be Added in England Red List from April 9

I was watching a news piece for BBC North West Tonight which reported that around 31K people travelled to Pakistan in Jan 2021. This was -50% compared to Jan 2020, whereas passenger numbers to India were -85% and to Spain -95%.

It is being inferred that the key reason for Pakistan being added to the Red List is due to the increased number of people visiting.

April 5 Islamabad to London PIA flight with chartered aircraft is cancelled. The flight 5M703 was scheduled to depart from London at 6:00 PM.

Maybe permission for London flight not granted by UK authorities?

News reports some weeks ago claimed that PIA was allowed only to operate flights between Islamabad and Manchester with chartered aircraft by UK authorities.

PIA has obtained permission to operate two additional flights to UK before April 9.

The first of these additional flights will depart from Islamabad to Manchester on April 7 at 2:30 PM.

Recent three PIA flights with chartered Hi Fly Airbus A330 aircraft transported nearly 900 passengers from Islamabad to Manchester.

PIA has obtained permission to operate more additional flights to UK before April 9.

On April 7 & 8, chartered aircraft with PIA passengers will fly from Islamabad to Manchester.

On April 8, chartered aircraft with with PIA passengers will fly from Islamabad to London.

These additional flights will meet the demand of passengers returning to UK from Pakistan before April 9.

Today, Hi Fly Airbus A340-300 (aircraft registration CS-TQZ) arrived in Islamabad at 4:44 AM as ferry flight from Beja (Portugal). The A340 is expected to perform chartered flight from Islamabad to UK.
