European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Revocation of Pakistani Airlines Third Country Operator (TCO) Authorization to Continue
Pakistan's Vision Air International is also affected by European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) by revocation of Third Country Operator (TCO) Authorization.
EASA has further extended suspension period until all necessary information is available to decide on the way forward.
Third Country Operator (TCO) Authorization was issued to Vision Air International on January 24, 2020, and suspended due to safety concerns on July 1, 2020.
Following an initial suspension of six months, EASA decided to extend this suspension for an additional three-month period. This extended suspension period expired on March 31, 2021.
In February 2021, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) made public a Significant Safety Concern (SSC) for Pakistan. This is an indication of serious degradation of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) certification and oversight capabilities.
Documents shown on Dunya News channel:
Probably Vision Air intends to operate its Boeing 737-3B3QC (Quick Change) cargo flights to/from Europe.
Vision Air Boeing 737-3B3QC (Quick Change) registration AP-BMT seen at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden, on May 15, 2020. Sweden is European Union member.

Re: EASA Suspends PIA Europe Flights
According to news sources, EASA also rejected offer made by Pakistan to operate Pakistani aircraft with pilots and engineers holding licenses of foreign countries accepted by EASA.
"The offer does not fully mitigate all concerns regarding oversight capabilities of Pakistan CAA", said EASA in its reply.
The suspension of Europe/UK flights is causing loss of two billion rupees per month to PIA. The nine-month ban so far has caused loss of nearly nineteen billion rupees to the airline.

Re: EASA Suspends PIA Europe Flights
Are there real/realtime or indirect signs or proxy indicators that concerns raised by EASA nine months back have actually been addressed?

Re: EASA Suspends PIA Europe Flights
How is this possible?? Do they mean loss of REVENUE that is not the same thing as losses. Losses are Revenue minus cost. Since revenue is zero and expenses are zero the loss cannot be 2 billion a month. The suspension of Europe/UK flights is causing loss of two billion rupees per month to PIA. The nine-month ban so far has caused loss of nearly nineteen billion rupees to the airline.
Unless they are counting lease payments of three 777s as loss towards the European and UK flights.

CEO PIA Air Marshal (Retired) Arshad Malik met European Union (EU) Ambassador to Pakistan Androulla Kaminara and informed her about steps taken to allay EU concerns on the safety of airline's flight operations between Pakistan and EU member states.
Ms. Kaminara clarified that the process is currently underway and that the assessment is purely technical and no political considerations are taken into consideration.

Re: EASA Suspends PIA Europe Flights
I am so thankful for this website & its updates.
I was looking to book flights from Pak-UK-Pak for the first 2 weeks of November & PIA is offering flights to Manchester from Islamabad, but clearly that is not the case.
Absolutely shocking they would advertise flights they have no intentions of flying & then spend weeks & weeks refunding money back to customers.
Thanks everyone for the updates.

^ Probably seat bookings offered by PIA for chartered aircraft flights between Pakistan and UK arranged by the airline.
