What is going on with BA261 tonight?

Post by cpt_747 »

Right now it is flying over Madina (not it’s usual route) and well behind its schedule 🤔
The orbital speed of the Earth around the Sun averages about 30 km/s or 18 mps (108,000 km/h or 67000 mph).
Which means we're travelling 97 times the speed of sound. And yet we can't feel the motion,

BA15 to Singapore which departed around 10 minutes ahead from Heathrow flew over it’s usual route whereas the BA261 followed the BA109 to Dubai (A35X) which took a very strange route.

Most likely unable to get a traffic slot for BOBCAT ops due to delay which resulted in Southern route avoiding Afghanistan.
