Going back the second time as the first appeal was rejected by the EUadamalikhan wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 7:13 pm Just to clarify where we are with this. Is this the first appeal PIA is making or was the appeal rejected (I'm sure I read this somewhere) and therefore going back again for the second time?

Re: EASA Suspends PIA Europe Flights for Six Months
The first appeal was probably with EASA itself, the second one in some court. Not that there's any point in trying beyond saving face at home, given pia and the pakistani authorities' record in matters of aviation safety.

Re: EASA Suspends PIA Europe Flights for Six Months
Is there any credible information about the start of code share flights (Turkish or Pegasus)? Chairman PIA and minister of aviation have been shamelessly just mouth shitting since last 2 months. Can someone provide some credible info. Pleaseeeeee

This is about us of Aviation Division: http://aviation.gov.pk/Overview
This is their organogram: http://aviation.gov.pk/Detail/Yzg4NWU4N ... U3ZThkZGU1
There is one Secretary and seven different kind of secretaries and 12 'section officers.' God only knows well what they do.
As a starter they should clearly mention technical competency of the Aviation Division. As a part of due diligence, nowadays, the website is the first thing that is checked.

RAWALPINDI: Amid the aviation crisis, the Pakistan International Airlines management has decided not to lodge an appeal against the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) suspension of the PIA flights to and from the EU member states as the two-month deadline for filing the appeal expired on Aug 30.
The decision was taken in the wake of a scheduled visit to Pakistan of the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) team on Sept 7 to assess the operational management and control systems of the PIA. According to sources, the IATA-designated safety audit team is expected to stay here for five days.
During the visit, the PIA management believes, they would be in a better position to convince the team about the safety measures and fulfil all the requirements set forth by the international body pertaining to the national flag carrier.

Following the closure of PIA flights to & from Europe, the airline management has decided call back employees deputed in Europe stations including Milan, Oslo, Copenhagen and Barcelona. General Sales Agent (GSA) will handle ticket sales at these stations. The step has been taken to cut airline's expenses.

This is the perfect time to close down PIA.
Fire all the employees.
Start a new company.
Re-hire part of the same labor force.
And re-start operations.
PIA is bad brand now.
Return all the leased fleet and restart with a limited fleet.

And re-start operations.

I am also surprised many other profitable airlines have had layoffs in thousands, and we only heard like 750 layoffs in PIA, that too due to fake degrees.Amaad Lone wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 2:06 pm This is the perfect time to close down PIA.

Re: EASA Suspends PIA Europe Flights for Six Months
Pakistan is like the USSR, a communist country of the the sixties.
No body gets fired from a state owned company.
Soviet Union went bankrupt and broke up.
There was no money for state owned companies and no salaries were paid for months eventually resulting is closing down the company.
Now PIA is the same. It has a blank check from the government. Piled up hundreds of billions in debt and no one cares.
Its like a gold medal, keeping PIA running.
Which ever government makes the right decision and shuts down PIA will be remembered, he shut down PIA.
Its hopeless.
Our government is living on debt. We have mortgaged the future of our children. NO one cares.
Companies like Railways, Steel Mill, PIA and many others are spending money that should be spent on health and education.
Shut down PIA. Return all the leased planes. Fire everyone. No golden handshake, just kick them out.
Restart a new airline with eight planes that PIA does not lease and see what happens.

This article seems to suggest that PIA are not appealing the decision. Interesting how UK staff are not impacted at all.
