Will be the Turkish airline that too a blessing & disguise, a god gifted deal, salute to all those who then opposed the deal without any knowledge of the TK/PK deal, & then promised to turn around the airline, where are those so called champions, finally the great national airline PIA is now literally coming to standstill, conspiracy started in the year 2011 is now comings to it's finality. The so called leaders must have now realised that playing in the hands of touts & damaging their own national airline have paid them nothing but only the destruction.
Do you have any information regarding the deal that is now in place?
Of course he doesn't.

It's a conspiracy either made up himself or based off something someone else said or heard.

Or in plain english, just BS.

Ghulam Sarwar Khan is not a very senior minister and does not have the clout to make such statements.

This information that was fed to the minister obviously came from a higher place and he was told to go public.

Whoever told him that had the worst motives for PIA because it resulted in the airline shutting down.

yes PIA has flaws but without doing any research and investigation to go on public TV and saying 262 pilots have dubious licences was a big mistake.

Its people who want to replace Imran Khan and make him look bad, the man who shut down PIA.

I would like to know where did the minister get the info about the 262 pilots.

Couldn’t agree more with what Amaad Lone Sahib has said. I doubt the said minister had the autonomy and audacity to make such an exaggerated and anti-state claim on his own. The strongest institution is at play in this.

On a side note, now that the TK-PK kind of deal is coming in the spotlight, could it all have been pulled off and blown out of proportion just so the deal could be finalized? It’s obvious selfish interests are always preferred over the welfare of state organisations in Pakistan. Whatever the evil minds are up to, they’ve surely sunk PIA to bottom.

PIA again has been allowed to fly over European airspace. PK784 (Toronto to Karachi) flew over UK, Norwegian, Swedish and Lithuanian airspace on 20th July 2020.

Yes Canada Govt allowed PIA flight to YYZ anytime no issue overfly European airspace BUT not allow landing & take off anywhere in Europe except emergency only. BUT UK will Brexit European on 31st December 2020 then UK will allow PIA all flights to UK overfly EU Airspace on 1st January 2021 inshallah but PIA & Pak Govt MUST appeal EU & USA. Pak CAA & Pak Govt must apologise to all Pak pilots now. Canada are very good better than USA and UK and Europe.

Brexit does not mean PK will start flying again. EU and the UK and US could extend their bans.

Absolutely. Brexit is already here - we are in transition s as and UK issued a separate statement on flight suspension. But hopefully PIA addresses the outstanding issues on safety and is allowed to fly back into EU. This might give passengers some confidence in the airline.

PIA did not have scheduled flights to US in any case- only a handful of repatriation flights. So unless permission was going to go given imminently it is not going to be a problem for now.

PIA's improving Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) hazard safety index will be part of reply to be submitted by Pakistani national flag carrier airline in its efforts to get permission for resumption of flights to & from destinations in Europe.

In 2007, PIA SAFA hazard safety index was touching 3.7. PIA Airbus A310 and Boeing 747 aircraft were also banned from operating flights to & from destinations in Europe in 2007.

The safety index was brought to 0.67 in 2009

In January 2017, the index was at 2.67

Due to improved management the SAFA index was brought to 0.61 in July 2020. It's best safety index achieved by PIA in recent times.

PIA to file EASA decision review appeal by the end of July.

The appeal can be submitted by August 30.

The EASA had in 2019 given its six observations on the PIA to comply with till June 30, 2020. `Five of its observations have been addressed and the sixthone onsafetystandards has yet to be complied with,` Aviation Minister Gulam Sarwar Khan informed the senate on July 24.

According to news sources:

PIA has hired services of lawyers for submitting appeal to EASA.

The airline is also testing Safety Management Systems for implementation according to EASA requirements.
