"The Minister of Transport requested the Vietnam Aviation Administration to review and immediately bans the execution of flight missions of all Pakistani national pilots and foreign pilots (working for Vietnamese carriers), diplomas and certificates (suspected of counterfeiting) issued by Pakistan."

Vietnam grounds Pakistani pilots over licence concerns

HANOI (Reuters) -
Vietnam’s aviation authority said on Monday it had grounded all Pakistani pilots working for local airlines, amid concern from global regulators that some pilots may have been using “dubious” licences.

“The head of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has ordered a suspension for all Pakistani pilots working for Vietnamese airlines,” the CAAV said in a statement on Monday.

The suspension will be in effect until further notice from CAAV, it said, adding that the authority is coordinating with Pakistani authorities to review the pilots’ profiles.

Vietnam had licensed 27 Pakistani pilots, and 12 of them were still active, while the other 15 pilots’ contracts had expired or were inactive due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to the CAAV.

Of the 12 active pilots, 11 were working for budget airlines Vietjet Aviation and one for Jetstar Pacific, a unit of the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.

Naturally, only those pilots would feel "mental strain" who have obtained fake licenses. Why would those pilots be worried who followed the examinations and protocols to get licenses/

Another comedy letter from PALPA as usual.

The repercussions for those who are innocent is also not great. Various airlines of other countries have grounded all Pakistani pilots and engineers. Whilst yes they have nothing to worried about it all their documents are genuine, but guilty until proven innocent is not a great place to be either.

According to airblue spokesperson:

Aviation Division had sent to airblue a list of nine pilots with dubious licences. However, only two of these pilots were with airblue and the airline has grounded the two pilots.

Doesn't this show how incompetent the CAA is; holding records or sharing records which are incorrect?

I doubt that one fine day the CAA IT guy chose to look into these records and report it to the Aviation Secretary. Unless he was explicitly ordered to find any kind of dirt on pilots without considering the legitimacy and repercussions of this move.

So much lies and misinformation is out there these days that it will be never known whether really so many pilots had fake degrees or there is political implications behind raising license issue over the core issues the country faces right now..Corona, unemployment, petrol price, water shortage etc.
The word fake should also demand a definition in the present context.

whatever may be the case, there might very bumpy road ahead for pilots from Pakistan in terms of employment or trust in the international market in post corona world, despite the ones who are very talented, honest and have proper degrees.

Since list and the names of pilots came out who are accused of obtaining pilot licenses illegally by adopting unfair means , Did any individual from the list has challenge that list so far by bringing a valid evidence that why his name is in the list as he completed and obtained license through proper procedure and did not adopt any unfair means.
Does government Or the aviation minister has any plane to investigate and expose malpractices in hiring of pilots since Nadeem Yousafzai as a DFO hidings of pilots before and after him .
Hope the remaining list is out soon.

Prove yourselves otherwise. It isn't as if the culture of nepotism, corruption and general laziness is unknown to all. You blame the Air Marshall for being the cause of the downfall, remind us the brilliant performance of PIA under the various captains who have headed the organization.

Indeed about time this corrupt and cancer ridden organisation and the corruption that exists within is exposed to entire world.
Hats off to the minister for having balls and courage to expose the list and taking ownership in admitting that this has existed.
Well done Sir. I hope further action is taken and this mafia and rogue members of PALPA are dealt with the force and vigour of law. Shame on them and CAA.

And those still defending it, time to look in mirror and perhaps subject yourselves to self reflection as to where you actually stand and may be about time to gauge your own ethics. Without naming members, it is clearly evident from few particular members’ posts that they would more than likely be serving members of PALPA and their names would be on the list.

Like they say “ dair hai andhair nah”......time has caught up to your shameful acts.

I agree with you, many people are pointing to the CEO JUST because he’s from PAF or used to be since he retired after the court hearings,The work culture in PIA is not good, be it a pilot or a technician most of the employees slack off and don’t do anything extra even the smallest thing for the betterment of their organization they lack sincerity and then blame the management, At least do your part!, This whole accountability run and this chaos will either make PIA and the aviation industry or doom it forever and be the final nail in PIAs coffin.
