On April 2, a PIA Boeing 777 is expected to depart from Karachi at 9:20 AM as flight PK781 to Toronto. Canada has arranged this special flight for transportation of its stranded citizens from Pakistan.

The new interim schedule follows the guideline issue by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) last week, on restricting each carriers to serving 1 route per country, 1 weekly each.

Air China

Air China planning to resume Pakistan service from April 17 with once-a-week Beijing-Islamabad-Karachi-Xi’An-Beijing flight with Airbus A330 aircraft.

The flight to Beijing will make technical stop in Xi’An for quarantine inspection purposes.

Passengers wore face masks and apparently seats between passengers were kept vacant as preventive measure against the spread of COVID-19.

Today, PIA Boeing 777-200LR registration AP-BGY departed from Lahore at 7:33 AM as flight PK789 to Toronto. Passengers and crew wore face masks.

Flight arranged by Canada for the transportation of stranded Canadians from Pakistan.

What crew rest arrangements have been made for such long there and back flights to YYZ?
Close to 30 hours up and down if multiple sets on board.

Government of Pakistan has finalized plans to repatriate Pakistani citizens stranded in various countries due to suspension of international flight operations, said Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui at a press briefing in Islamabad today.

Flights will be operated to repatriate Pakistanis stranded in London/UK, Toronto, Istanbul, Baku, Tashkent, Baghdad and Kuala Lumpur.

Government of Pakistan recently allowed flights for repatriation of Pakistani citizens stranded in Doha, Dubai, Jeddah/Medina/Saudi Arabia and Bangkok.

Recently three meetings chaired by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi were held at foreign office to plan phased repatriation of Pakistanis stranded abroad. The meeting was attended by Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan and officials belonging to CAA, PIA, NDMA.

On the subject of Pakistanis stranded abroad, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said:

* First priority will be given to Pakistanis stranded abroad as transit passengers.

* Second priority will be given to Pakistanis abroad with expiring/expired visas.

* Third priority will be given to Pakistanis working or studying abroad.

The special flight arranged by the Government of Pakistan will transport Pakistanis who were stranded in Istanbul since March 21.

Arrangements will be made for passengers' transportation from Islamabad Airport to their home cities/towns.

EgyptAir Boeing 777 Lands in Karachi

For some reason, EgyptAir Boeing 777-300ER (aircraft registration SU-GDN) landed at Karachi Airport at 10:47 PM as flight MS3201. Earlier, the aircraft had departed from Cairo as flight MS3200.
