Air Crash Investigation Series 19 Episode 3 Titled "Kathmandu Descent"

Post by Shahab »

Hello all

The third episode of the 19th season of Aircrash Investigation is based on PIA flight 268 that crashed in Khatmandu. This will probably be the first time a PIA plane is featured in this series and hopefully will provide some answers. The episode "Khatmandu descent" will be aired on Thursday 23rd Jan 7:30 PM in the UK.

Gents any update? Just watched yesterday’s episode and it was about THAI flight 311, an A310 service that crashed 25 miles north of KTM on 31 July 1992 so about 2 months before PK262, looks like Shahab when learnt about Katmandu descent he jumped to wrong conclusion

^ thank you Jamshed for the links.

In the animation they showed Airbus A300-600 instead of Airbus A300B4-200 operated by PIA.

Take it easy, man. Somehow, they did a good job by presenting this episode.

Buddy he is just sharing information not complaining about it. I also noticed they didn’t show or mention anything about a flight engineer in the cockpit, since B4 would have one.

I agree and i too noticed that they did not mention the flight engineers as there were two on the flight deck of ill fated AB4, the wikipedia page reads as follows:

There were two flight engineers on board (instead of one), one operating, and other observing. The operating flight engineer was an unnamed 40-year-old male who had 5,289 flight hours, with 2,516 of them on the Airbus A300. The observing flight engineer, 42-year-old Muhammad Ashraf, who had had 8220 flight hours, including 4,503 hours on the Airbus A300

Even with these minor discrepancies, as expected, ver well made by NG Air Crash Investigation. Thank you for sharing.
