Two separate high-level teams would visit Faisalabad International Airport next week to review the expansion of existing runway and evaluate airport's cargo handling potential.

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) advertisement in March 23 newspaper to pre-qualify contractors for Faisalabad International Airport secondary runway existing surface (rigid) improvement/rehabilitation.
The components of the works in the project shall consist of, but not limited to, the following:

Faisalabad primary runway 03/21 and secondary runway.

As per my understanding, the flights will be landed/take off from secondary runway after rehabilitation & after that they will upgrade the Main runway 03/21 for B777

#Faisalabad International Airport primary runway will be upgraded to handle operations of bigger wide-body aircraft like Boeing 777 Boeing 747 Airbus A340
The airport's secondary runway will be rehabilitated for smaller aircraft operations.

Re-carpeting work on abandoned Secondary Runway of Faisalabad Airport will start soon.

I made my last return flight from Pakistan via Faisalabad Int. and a very unique thing I noticed there is that there were no weight calculators on luggage belts during boardings. It might be the best choice for those who like to travel with overweight baggages.

O yes I mean when I dropped my luggage on the belt and they asked me to present the passport, there was no luggage weight display anywhere

According to following corrigendum & addendum in July 20 newspaper, amendments have been made to encourage local contractors for re-construction of rigid runway at Faisalabad International Airport.
Last date for submission of pre-qualification document has been extended to August 5, 2019. Other terms and conditions will remain same.

According to NOTAM issued by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Daily from dawn to dusk, July 29 to October 31, rehabilitation work in progress on western side of Faisalabad International Airport runway approximately 1500 feet down Runway 21 and 315 feet from runway center line.
Heavy machinery has been deployed. All pilots advised to exercise caution while landing/takeoff/taxiing.

Faisalabad Primary Runway 03/21 and Secondary Runway.

Rehabilitation work of secondary/abandoned runway to be performed from October 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020. Rehabilitation work includes digging work. Heavy machinery has been deployed and pilots are advised to exercise caution while landing, takeoff and taxiing.
