I also have heard that Thai Airways are gonna "drop" their 2 747-300, HS-TGD + HS-TGE. These planes has been taken out from the CPH-BKK route, in which they have been used in the daily Thai flight. And tehy haven't been in operation for the last month.

Surinam Airways long haul fleet consists of a single ex KLM 747-300. This aircraft was built in 1986, and is powered by GE engines, which would be more compatable to our combis, and not the RR powered fleet of 747-300s.

Buying a 20 year old 747, I don't think so. Maybe if it was needed for a short term lease ranging from 12-24 months but not to purchase.

If PIA needs to buy a used 400 seater, I would suggest finding some GE powered 777-300s. Perfect for the busy umra flights to Jeddah, plus the slot restricted Heathrow operations. Skipt he ER version, as the 5-8 hour sectors don't need it. Maybe a few ex-Emirates planes (leased in from ILFC) once they recieve the newer 777-300ERs from Boeing.

Thanks for the info Amaad.

What is the condition of the aircraft from the inside ?

Anyone know how many cycles this aircraft has done ? If the numbers are low could the aircraft be bought regardless of the age of the aircraft ??
