The HS Trident was the first commercial aircraft to have Autoland capability. The one on the movie is very quiet compared to the noise these tri-jets used to generate :!:

^ Apparently movie producer used sound of Fokker F-27 Rolls-Royce Dart turboprop engines for Trident jetliner

Speeds of commercial jet aircraft achieved their peak in the sixties. The Trident was one of the fastest airliners built and had a MMO (max mach operating) of 0.92. It also brought the autoland category 3 into reality and it is said that the nose wheel was slightly kept offset the centre because of the unusual accuracy of the tires scraping on the centreline groove of the runway.
PIA's schedule was so good in those days (1966) that every day punctually at 11 AM this aircraft would go over my house in Lahore arriving from Rawalpindi. Concorde was a product of the same era.
The tragedy at Staines on departure from Heathrow of a BEA Trident flight highlighted the need for CRM procedures because the two co-pilots could not recover the aircraft after the captain suffered a fatal heart attack as the takeoff roll started. It is said that the his condition had already deteriorated prior to departure, compounded by a looming pilot strike.

Offset noise gear. The retraction was sideways as well.

Following video clip from 1969 Pakistani movie "Piya Milan Ki Aas" shows PIA Hawker Siddeley HS-121 Trident 1E (AP-ATM). Probably it's Lahore Airport.

And, I think in this video there's original sound of Rolls-Royce RB. 163-25 Spey turbofan engines that powered PIA Trident 1E aircraft.
