Heavy snowfall shuts down Chitral Airport

CHITRAL Jan 5 (APP): Wednesday January 4, was observed the coldest day in the history of Chitral as the minimum temperature touches -9 centigrade with 3 recorded the maximum temperature.

Though the weather was clear on Wednesday but no schedule flight of PIA was operated due to heavy snowfall on the runway.

The Civil Aviation Authority has deployed machinery for removing snow from the runway.
