Post by B777240ER »

British Airways will upgrade its Islamabad flights from a B777 to B744 on the 30th of March.

The route sees 3 weekly BA service and 4 weekly PK service.

V good...guess Airblue and PIA have a lot to fear now due to the extra capacity offered by BA on this route which is very much needed.

I flew ORD-LHR-ISB on Nov26 on BA and back on Dec 18. I was not impressed at all by BA's service. I would rate BA's service comparable to PIA, not much different. Also BA's fare is higher than PIA's fare. From ORD I will choose PIA over BA anyday.

On my LHR-ORD return flight, one of the general meal options was Chicken Tikka Masala with rice which was a nice surprise. I did not request Muslim meal on any flights so no idea what was served in muslim meals.

Looks like their fares have come down as well, i just put in as a sample outbound at the end of march and inbound middle of may LHR-ISB-LHR and the fare is £498.50 which is pretty good!! How much is PIA? I suspect a price war may start.

PK786, PIA has similar prices around that period

Behramjee I doubt ED will be allowed to start LHR/LGW flights as PK is operating all 10 flights allowed. CAA(PK) should change the bilateral as this will benefit Pakistani carriers.

On a side note if you check the timetable ED is flying daily LHE-MAN-LHE with 320. It starts in May and ends in June :!: :?:

.

Last time I checked it stated that Pakistani airlines can only fly upto 10 weekly flights into Heathrow but unlimited to MAN, LGW, BHX, GLA, STN-London Stansted.

ED will be doing KHI-LGW and ISB-LGW next year...where did someone read LHE-MAN-LHE.

I do not think that LHE-MAN-LHE can be operated by 320 a/c

That means they also have a first class going to Pakistan, which they never had on the 777 plane.
