Karachi is the financial and commercial hub of Pakistan and accounts for more than 60% of Pakistan's Gross Domestic Product. It is a centre of business in the region, and also the home to several major institutions for higher learning.
Lahore, capital of the province of Punjab, is a city known for its cultural capital, which is apparent from the numerous historic buildings endowed with architectural and scenic beauty.
A very old city, Lahore was part of the Mughal dynasty, which ruled over vast tracks of the Indian sub-continent.
"Singapore Airlines is confident that our flights to Karachi and Lahore will facilitate the growth of trade, investments and tourism between Singapore and Pakistan. In addition, we believe that the inclusion of Pakistan to our extensive route network further enhances Pakistan's linkage to the rest of the world." Said Mr Huang Cheng Eng, Singapore Airlines' Executive Vice President Marketing and the Regions.

60% of Pakistan's Gross Domestic Product?? that is far from reality. It's not true, maybe a typing error?Karachi is the financial and commercial hub of Pakistan and accounts for more than 60% of Pakistan's Gross Domestic Product. It is a centre of business in the region, and also the home to several major institutions for higher learning.

i told you so they are planning on returning...guess the chap I spoke to at UAL KHI was correct about Feb 06 being the launch month.Singapore Airlines Ltd. (S55.SG) Thursday said it will restart flights to Pakistan in February
Aircraft to be used will be an "A" series B 777-200...hence a regional B 772 and not B 772ER...nothing heard or even talked about of a possible B 773 being used.
If this flight is successful, then they will add on a 4th weekly flight and then only start SIN-ISB-KHI-SIN 3 weekly B 772 flights.
