New travel regulations for passengers flying from Pakistan into Abu Dhabi
Following the latest UAE Government directives, Etihad Airways will be able to accept passengers travelling to Abu Dhabi from from Lahore (LHE), Karachi (KHI), and Islamabad (ISB) from Sunday 22 August. Previously these flights were only open to transit passengers.
Passengers returning to the UAE must have a valid residency and proof of having received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine within the UAE no less than 14 days before travel. Certain categories of unvaccinated passengers are also eligible to return, including medical workers, UAE based teachers, students, residents with extenuating circumstances, patients undergoing medical treatment in the UAE and employees who work for federal or local government agencies. These latest categories are in addition to previously exempt categories of UAE nationals, diplomatic missions, official delegations and Golden residence holders.
Passengers will be subject to acceptance and quarantine conditions and, in order to travel, must have Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship approval, a negative PCR test result within 48 hours of departure, a rapid PCR test taken within six hours of boarding and a PCR test upon arrival in the UAE.
Etihad is working closely with guests to notify them of changes and assist with travel arrangements.
