Scanners to be Installed at Airports of Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan for Fruits and Vegetables Exports

Post by Abbas Ali »

Ministry of Commerce and Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have agreed to install a modern scanner at Karachi Airport for security checking export consignments of fruits, vegetables and other perishable food items.

Installation of scanner will enable export consignments of fruits and vegetables, especially mangoes, to be scanned in shortest possible time instead of lengthy manual process. This will ensure that the quality of mangoes is not affected.

Manual checking of consignments by multiple agencies affected items quality and also delayed exports.

Later, these scanners will also be installed at airports of Islamabad, Lahore and Multan for fruits and vegetables exports.

A shed will also be constructed at Karachi Airport for storing export shipments of fruits and vegetables with protection against bad weather and harsh temperature conditions.
