According to news sources, British Airways has sought permission to operate ten more flights for Pakistan.

However, due to recent surge in COVID-19 cases, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has deferred the matter and for the time being has decided not to give permission to British Airways to increase its flights for Pakistan.

Presently:

British Airways is operating daily flight between London and Islamabad with Boeing 777-200ER.

British Airways is operating four weekly flights between London and Lahore with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

Probably British Airways sought permission to operate flights between Manchester and Pakistan or for Birmingham.

In the past, British Airways operated flights between Manchester and Islamabad.

Can BA play the same game as Virgin and get the UK CAA involved to honour the ASA agreements between UK and PAK. Why not allow the extra flights are people need to get back to England before the red list initiation.

Worst comes to worst, BA should upgrade the aircraft’s on the route!

I believe British Airways does not operate from Birmingham anymore. Most probably looking to expand between Manchester and Pakistan

Why doesn't BA use its A380 on this route, or is this something the CAA will not approve too.

Their A380's are in premium heavy configuration. I doubt BA will make money with A380 on Pakistan routes.

Upgrading with an either B773 or A350K would help them carry more pax from ISB/ LHE.

Pak CAA won’t allow them to use the A388s plus what the A350 has mentioned above regarding the class configuration.
The orbital speed of the Earth around the Sun averages about 30 km/s or 18 mps (108,000 km/h or 67000 mph).
Which means we're travelling 97 times the speed of sound. And yet we can't feel the motion,

Ba already operate the largest seat capacity 777-200 this aircraft carries 332 seats and is economy heavy.
A350 carries 331 and 777-300 carries 271 but both aircraft are premium heavy which for the pk market is no good.
The a380 is out of service and in storage just to bring that back for 1 week is out of the question as it will be a logistical nightmare.

what if UK government is playing politics by putting Pakistan on the red list, so BA and VS can get more expanded rights into Pakistan?

So a daily flight to lahore and double daily islamabad. Must be due to the England red list. BA and Virgin must be making plenty money on the route right now!

Hopefully they get the frequencies before the red list!

Virgin said it had no plans to increase frequency for this week leading upto Pakistan being added to the red list.

The reason for this is probably because it knows how incompetent Pak CAA is and would not allow this to happen anyway so not worth putting pax through more misery.
