* International travelers from countries in Category C will need to take a mandatory RT-PCR test when the traveler lands in Pakistan.

There is currently no country in Category C.

From February 1 to February 28

COVID-19 PCR test before commencement of travel to Pakistan revised to maximum 72 hours old for passengers arriving Pakistan from Category B and C countries.

Six countries Brazil, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, South Africa and UK have been included in Category C countries.

Pakistani passport, National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) and Pakistan Origin Card (POC) card holders will be allowed to return to Pakistan from Category C countries. Diplomatic staff and their families will be allowed to enter Pakistan from Category C countries.

Following six countries have been included in Category C countries by Pakistan.
  1. Brazil
  2. Ireland
  3. Netherlands
  4. Portugal
  5. South Africa
  6. United Kingdom (UK)
Travel restrictions for inbound travel from Category C countries

From February 1, 2021, only following passengers will be allowed to travel to Pakistan from Category C countries while in possession of a negative PCR test certification conducted within 72 hours prior to commencement of travel to Pakistan.
  • Pakistani passport holders holding a valid visa from a Category C country.
  • National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) holders
  • Pakistan Origin Card (POC) holders
  • Diplomatic passport holders of Category C countries and their families.
Any or all passengers fulfilling any criteria as mentioned arriving in Pakistan from Category C country within last ten days prior to travel to Pakistan may also be subjected to additional stipulations as specified by the relevant health authorities upon arrival in Pakistan.

The aforesaid measures will remain in effect until February 28, 2021, 2359 hours and may be reviewed by the competent authority at its discretion.

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has approved arrival of Pakistan Super League (PSL) cricket foreign players and support staff from Category C countries aboard Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways and Emirates commercial flights to Pakistan.

The passengers (PSL foreign players and support staff) will be subjected to COVID-19 PCR testing, mandatory quarantine and other stipulations as specified by health authorities upon arrival in Pakistan.

Players from South Africa and United Kingdom - both countries placed by Pakistan in Category C - are expected to take part in PSL. Recently, Pakistan also imposed restrictions on travelers from South Africa and United Kingdom where new strains of coronavirus have been detected.

Travel to Pakistan will be subject to health and exemption protocols as per procedure in vogue. Review will be carried out at NCOC meeting on April 2.

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) notification issued on March 28, 2021:

Submission of details of passengers granted special exemption for travel to Pakistan from Category C countries

There is a complete ban on inbound travel to Pakistan from Category C countries and any or all passengers traveling to Pakistan from Category C countries require special authorization/exemptions on a case-by-case basis in order to streamline testing, tracing and quarantine protocols for any such passengers traveling to Pakistan from Category C countries.
  • Airline operators transporting passengers that have been granted special authorizations/exemptions for inbound travel from Category C countries shall be required to submit a complete passenger manifest of such passengers containing passenger identification and travel details to Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) management at respective airports for onward sharing with relevant health authorities.
  • These details will be submitted to Pakistan CAA management at respective airports immediately following the closure of check-in for flights boarding passengers for Pakistan from Category C countries.
All concerned are directed to ensure strict compliance.

Special exemption for travel to Pakistan from Category C country South Africa has been granted to Pakistani cricketers Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq who will arrive in Islamabad from Johannesburg via Doha aboard Qatar Airways flight on April 10.

Both players will have to follow SOPs to prevent the spread of COVID-19

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has allowed Pakistani cricket commentator Ramiz Raja traveling from South Africa to enter Pakistan.

Raja will travel to Lahore from Johannesburg via Doha on Qatar Airways. He'll arrive in Lahore on April 18. The former cricketer after arriving in Pakistan will have to follow SOPs including COVID-19 tests and quarantine.

He had travelled to South Africa on March 26 to commentate on cricket matches played between teams of South Africa and Pakistan.
