British Airways has plenty slots at London Heathrow after culling routes and rewiring its network post COVID. Good to see it go daily

Re: British Airways Islamabad Daily
BA has always carried good loads in J and will continue to do so as it’s a preferred carrier for all EU countries with Diplomats based in Pakistan at one stage it was operating 6 777s into ISB just prior to the Marriott Bombing and that was due to demand in J and P and not Y.
This decision by BA will have a bigger impact on EK and TK in J.
LHE and KHI both possible and would be on BAs target list with the current PIA situation and COVID 19.... possibly as an extension with ME flights, don’t think they have enough J demand to warrant a direct LHR slot.

Honestly if BA were to operate a LHE or KHI route maybe it would be in a triangle route? Like LHR-LHE-KHI-LHE-LHR

Re: British Airways Islamabad Daily
I can’t see LHR-LHE-KHI-LHE-LHR as it would not work with crew hours and mean 2 sets of crews based in Pakistan but mostly importantly would leave very little yield for BA.
I thing before you see LHE/KHI you are more likely to see :
LHR-ISB-MAN And MAN-ISB-LHR rotating the aircraft between LHR and MAN and allowing for aircraft line maintenance at base, and most importantly BA is aware of the VFR demand from MAN as they served MAN ISB MAN non
Stop with 747-400,flights operated from LGW.... BA2129/2128) or VS may try MAN operations with their 330s with a Y heavy cabin.
Baramjee if your reading this your valuable stats on passenger NOs would be great as always.
Would be surprised if BA operates 35K to
ISB more likely a combination of 788/78K due to
capacity requirements and freight, would be great to see 77W in BA colours in ISB.

Re: British Airways Islamabad Daily
I don't think VS would try venturing in Pakistan as their model is not suited for our type of passengers.
BA needs to upgrade equipment on the ISB route as there is a lot of oppurtunity for freight as you said and more passenger yield

BA route planners are very clever and know exactly where the markets are that prints them the most money, pre-covid those folks at waterside were making billions of profits every year.
I am definitely looking forward to seeing BA serving more destinations in Pakistan.

Re: British Airways Islamabad Daily
Did a search on BA website flying out from LHR to ISB on 17 Aug and Return 31 Aug. The Daily flights are those operated by Qatar Airways hence they require aircraft change at Doha. Oddly enough looking at BA261 using their own 787s there are 4 BA261 flights departing Heathrow Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings arriving in Islamabad the next morning, but the return journey on BA260 shows only 3 departures from Islamabad on Friday, Monday and Wednesday mornings. So what happens to the 787 which flies out on Saturday evening and arrives in Islamabad on Sunday morning?

It may be in a 14 day self/quarantine.
On a serious note, if you Are arriving from Pakistan you will have to stay in a 14 day self quarantine in UK. Hopefully your travel plans take that into account.
Also, does BA require a PCR test before flying out?

Re: British Airways Islamabad Daily
^ BA does not require a test.
Today's BA flights are special flights for crew placement and non revenue flights. Revenue flights will be starting from the 14th.

If BA wishes to upgrade LHR ISB LHR daily, this must be a big news as well as publishes on Routes online but i scrolled everything last night, no news regarding BA so far.
BA didnt have or ordered A359 aircrafts so far, they does have A35X. QR does have A359s .
Atm moment its showing with 787.8 but will upgraded to 350 100 In comming days I now this coz I work for ba
Head office
Hope BA will get more numbers from Pakistan as PIA is still depending on EASA decisions.

Salaam brothers,
Thanks for the regular update on BA flight schedule to Islamabad. Is Covid-19 test required for BA? when entering Pakistan and on leaving Pakistan?
Thank you

Re: British Airways Islamabad Daily
Question already answered 2 posts above, test is NOT required when flying TO Islamabad.
For flying out of Islamabad, confirm with BA and UK Govt requirements for entering the UK.
